Module learning outcomes
Plan and execute a realistic and original research project in their field, employing advanced experimental, analytical and/or computational modelling techniques and drawing on a comprehensive understanding of the scientific context of their work.
Apply appropriate analytical methods and critically evaluate experimental data or computational models, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of how these data are obtained and may be interpreted, and making sound judgements on incomplete data sets.
Demonstrate independence, initiative, personal responsibility and reflection towards their development as a research scientist, including an appreciation of risk assessment, ethical frameworks, lab conduct and data management as appropriate to their field of work.
Effectively communicate the context, rationale and original contribution of their research project in relation to current literature and techniques at the forefront of their field, demonstrating an advanced standard of academic writing and visual narrative.
