On this module, you’ll explore basic molecular techniques, with a focus on the molecular characteristics of cancer cells.
You’ll:
- prepare to undertake a research project later in your course
- understand the practice and theory of molecular techniques used in cancer cell and molecular biology
- produce effective and professional laboratory reports and protocols.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 32 hours of contact time and about 268 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
